This is a beautiful early 1930s gown in the most striking brilliant blue! The dramatic color combined with the bias cut, sensual fabric is just stunning! It has a beautiful cut to it as well - the bodice is draped and has those classic intricate ruching that runs across each shoulder. Each cap sleeves has extra pleat work set at the top of each. The front plunges to the slightly empire waist and crosses over itself at the front to maintain the wearers modesty. The skirt is cut completely on the bias. There is a lot of fabric in it but when you stand still it falls in one beautiful sleek column and i is only when you move that the amount of fabric that is actually there is revealed. I love the double row of open circle, rhinestone encrusted buttons that are hand placed and sewn on the waist detailing. A matching velvet cord runs through them to give it a corseted effect. Well made and hand finished - its a beauty! Excellent condition!
